The Mikumi floodplain with its open grassland dominates the park together with the mountain ranges that borders the park in two sides. The park provides excellent opportunity to view diverse number of animals and birds in a short period of time without too much of driving around. The wildlife viewing experience in this park can be experienced right upon entering the park where you can encounter baboons, zebras, and impalas and many more wild animals.

Day 1: Dar es Salaam to Mikumi National Park:

Depart Dar es Salaam at 0500am. Drive directly to Mikumi by 4×4 safari Jeep. You will arrive in the park after 4 hours depending on the traffic on the highway, lunch at Morogoro Town then drive into Mikumi National Park. You will go on afternoon game drives until late in the evening. You will be able to see many animals like elephant, giraffe, lions, antelopes, and many more. Mikumi National Park provides excellent opportunity to view diverse number of animals and birds in a short period of time without too much of driving around. Thereafter drive just a few kilometers from the park gate near the park boundary. Dinner and overnight will be at the Camp Bastian Mikumi

Day 2: Mikumi National Park to Dar es Salaam

After an early breakfast, have a sunrise game drive in Mikumi National Park, then with picnic lunches go on game drive until the afternoon. You will have the opportunity to view the unique Mikumi Giraffes that naturalists say seem to be a cross breed between reticulated and Maasai Giraffes. Lions, Elephants, Buffaloes, Hippos, Wildebeest,  Leopard can be easily sported in this park. You will have a game drive around the park trail leading you to the hippo pool. After your bush lunch you will drive back to Dar es Salaam and arrive around 0530pm drop off at your hotel.
