This Safari will take you to Gorilla haven in the Volcanoes National Park to trek Mountain Gorillas; enable you to discover and enjoy the scenic beauty of the volcanic landscapes characteristic of this part of the country Rwanda. Then you will take wildlife safari in Tanzania Southern and western Circuit and the end of the trip you will have an opportunity to trek the delightful chimpanzees and other primates at Mahale Mountain National Park.

Day 1: Kigali International Airport-Kigali Town:

Upon Arrival at Kigali International Airport then transfer to your hotel in Kigali Town. Our guide will introduce you briefly to of one of Africa’s cleanest cities the next day and give you a general orientation about the trip dinner and overnight at Des Milles Collines

Day 2: Kigali City Tour Then to Volcanoes National Park 

After breakfast at the hotel at 800am, you will embark on a city tour of Kigali via Kigali Genocide memorial to pay homage to the victims of Genocide Against Tutsi.Rwanda’s painful past has haunted the country for years; however, their impressive recovery story has turned them into an inspiration. The Kigali Genocide Memorial is the final resting place for more than 250,000 victims of the Genocide against the Tutsi in Rwanda. It honors the memory of the more than one million Rwandans killed in 1994. The memorial also serves to educate about genocide and peace -building around the world.  You will continue with the Campaign against Genocide Museum, it includes several monuments, pictures, video and audio materials aimed at depicting the campaign by the Rwanda Patriotic Front to stop the Genocide against the Tutsi. After you will proceed to Volcanoes National Park for dinner and overnight at Tiloreza Eco lodge.

Day 3: Gorilla Trekking-Volcanoes National Park  

After an early breakfast, we will drive to the Volcanoes National Park headquarters to be allocated a gorilla tracking group at 7am. You will get a briefing by your trackers, and then you start the amazing adventure of Gorilla trekking. The tracking / trekking can entail some thorough climbing as well as hiking although when you come face to face with the tranquil yet potent Mountain Gorillas, watching them only a few meters away from you observing the group, the baby with the mothers, the gorillas partaking their everyday routine just right in front of you is all very overwhelming experience. Then back to the hotel for meals and overnight at Tiloreza Eco lodge.

Day 4: Dian Fossey Hike Volcanoes National Park

After breakfast, you will drive to the park headquarter and later set off for Dian fossey hike. Dian Fossey was a pioneering primatologist. She founded the Karisoke Research Centre in Rwanda in 1967 and studied the endangered mountain gorillas for 18 years. The hike to the Dian Fossey Tomb is an incredible experience physically, emotionally and intellectually. The trek involves a 30 minutes’ drive from the park headquarters. At the site you will find the house from where Dian Fossey was mysteriously murdered in 1985 but the more peaceful is the place where she was buried just next to her favorite gorilla friend, Digit and about 20 other mountain gorillas either killed by poachers or suffered death for other reasons. The story of Karisoke is one of enormous perseverance, courage and vision, on the part of hundreds of staff and researchers, and supporters from all over the world, as well as Fossey herself meals and overnight at Tiloreza Eco lodge.

The trip will take you about 3 hours. Arrival for lunch relax at leisure till afternoon around 0400pm proceed with Boat game drive in the great Rufiji River till sunset, you have  a chance to  enjoy the beautiful scenery with a lot of wild animal and many spices of birds about 3 hours. Day 9: Selous Game Reserve / Nyerere Nationa Park-Mikumi N Park:

Depart after breakfast with packed lunch boxes for Mikumi national park. The drive will make you pass through Matambwe gate, will take at least 4hrs to make it to Mikimi, you will pass though farms along Uluguru Mountains and villages till Morogoro town then drive directly to park for afternoon game drive, You will have the opportunity to view the unique Mikumi Giraffe that naturalists say seem to be a cross breed between reticulated and Maasai Giraffes. Lion, elephant, buffalo, wildebeest, leopard can be easily spotted in this park. Your game drive will also take you around to the hippo pool to view the hippo. After your picnic lunch you will drive to the hotel dinner and overnight at Vuma Hills Tented Camp

Day 10: Mikumi National Park-Full Day Game Drive:

After breakfast full day game drives in the park, see the beauty of Mikumi national Park. The wildlife viewing experience in this park can be experienced right upon entering the park where you can encounter Baboons, Zebras and Impalas just to mention a few, you will have the opportunity to view the unique Mikumi Giraffes that naturalists say seem to be a cross breed between reticulated and Maasai Giraffes. Lions can be easily sported in this park. Game drive around the park trail leads you to the hippo pool, which is the best visited during the late afternoons as the distant setting sun and the bobbing hippos heads create perfect pictures there after sporting the wallowing Buffalos at the Mkata flood plains and Elephants congregating near the water hole, drive back to you the hotel dinner and overnight at Vuma Hills Tented Camp

After an early breakfast you will take part in a sunrise game drive in Mikumi National Park then with picnic lunch Visit Masia Boma near Mikumi National Park then depart for Ruaha National Park drive from Mikumi National Park to Ruaha National Park passes through farms and villages with very good landscapes and the Great Rift Valley.  Arrival in Ruaha National Park will be in late afternoon. Game drive en-route to your lodge having a chance to see Elephants, Giraffes, Kudu, lions, leopard, Jackal, Hyenas, African wild Dog and many more. Day 18: Walking Hiking in Mahale Mountains Forest:

Like its northerly neighbor Gombe Mahale Mountains National park is home to some of the lasts remaining wild chimpanzees in Africa. Around 1,000 of these fascinating animals roam the isolated rain forest of Mahale a chain of dramatic peaks draped in lush vegetation falling to lake Tanganyika’s beaches far below. Visitors are led on guide walks in search of the chimpanzees following clues such as the previous night’s nests, shadowy clumps high in the trees or scraps of half –eaten fruit and fresh dung once found the chimpanzees preen each other’s glossy coats in concentrated huddles squabble noisily or bound effortlessly into the trees swinging non-chillingly through the vines. Spend full days of walking safari: starting with chimpanzee tracking in the mountain forest of Mahale, visiting the research center for Chimpanzee and Hiking to the waterfalls. Late afternoon spend some time along the beach of Lake Tanganyika relaxing on the soft sand and watching the sun goes down or boat rides down the lake shores looking for hippos. Dinner and bonfire at Mbali Mbali Mahale Lodge.
